Biography
Claudia Schellenberg is living in Canmore, Alberta, in the Canadian Rocky Mountains since 2001. In her studio of South Face Art she paints mostly her surrounding beautiful mountainous landscape.
With her art she wants to get the majestic mountains out to the people that like it as much as herself.
Claudia liked to paint all her life and learnt through workshops, books and online learning. She has attended workshops with Donna Jo Massie, Susan Woolgar, Wanda Ellerbeck, Doug Swinton, Calgary, Karin Richter, Ursula Raynolds, Holly McWilliams, Patti Dyment and Sharon Williams, Calgary, Pascale Ouellet, Ralph Temple and Stoney Nakoda Elder Roland Rollinmud. She has joined the Canmore Art Guild in 2004 where, today, she is the senior gallery director. Her paintings are exhibited there in group shows and she had three solo shows. She has also participated in Art calls from the town of Canmore. For the first work she has painted the image that got chosen to decorate two electrical boxes in town. Last year she constructed and painted a sample waste bin in scale for the call. And today she is participating in an Art Banner call from the Town of Canmore. The artwork is to beautify the town and attract tourists.
